🌱 Homesteading & Regenerative Farming Residency

6-Month Immersive Experience in Homesteading & Regenerative Agriculture
(Oct–Mar or Apr–Sept, flexible start dates)

About Hungry World Farm

Hungry World Farm is a 175-acre nonprofit regenerative farm in Tiskilwa, Illinois. Our mission is to inspire and educate people about healthy food, healthy land, and healthy lives through hands-on experiences in regenerative agriculture. We care for the land, feed people, and welcome thousands of guests each year through farmstays, educational tours, and community events.

The Opportunity

The Homesteading & Regenerative Farming Residency offers individuals and couples the chance to “try on” a land-based lifestyle while contributing meaningfully to the farm’s mission. This 6-month residency is designed for people curious about whether regenerative farming, homesteading, or farm-based hospitality is right for them.

Residents focus on one or more core roles (Livestock, Farmstay/Hospitality, Homestead Animals, Agroforestry, Facilities) but also gain cross-training in other areas. It’s an all-around immersion in the rhythms of regenerative farming and community life.

Ideal Candidate

This residency is best suited for a couple with resources to support themselves during the term, possibly including one partner with a remote job or side income. This arrangement provides financial stability while allowing both partners to invest deeply in the farm experience.

Individuals with the ability to cover personal expenses are (of course!) welcome to apply.

A small stipend or salary may be offered based on skills and experience in specific areas, particularly if residents demonstrate strong potential for a permanent staff role during or after the residency.
