We have a variety of produce available, all grown using organic methods (though we have not pursued USDA organic certification at this point). By purchasing this produce, you are contributing toward your own health as well as the health of the land and local communities. You are also supporting interns and other learners, who are gaining experience and practical skills in agriculture. Here are some ways you can purchase produce from us at HWF:
Assorted vegetables : CSA (see CSA page), Peoria RiverFront Farmers’ Market, Princeton Farmers’ Market (occasionally), restaurants, directly from the farm, and more. Please contact us for product availability.
Blueberries (Late June through mid-July) : U-pick (See Farm Updates page for U-pick updates). Ready-picked berries for sale at the Peoria RiverFront Farmers’ Market, occasionally at the Princeton Farmers’ Market, and directly from the farm. To be placed on a list for ready-picked berries, please contact us.
Strawberries (Early June) : We hope to have some ready-picked berries for sale at the Peoria RiverFront Farmers’ Market and perhaps (depending on the year) at Tiskilwa’s annual Strawberry & Artisan Festival. To be placed on a list for ready-picked berries, please contact us.
Seasonally, we have meat for sale. We currently sell by the whole animal. We deliver the live animal to the processing center. Customers then pay the locker/processing facility for the processing fees and then pick up the meat directly from the facility. Contact us for interest in goat or pork (animals ready in late Fall).
Know of others (e.g. local restaurants, co-ops, grocery stores, etc.) who might be interested in distributing our products? Please let us know!
